M16 - 271016-46
This is a very rare Colt M231 port firing weapon designed by Rock Island Arsenal for use in the US Military Bradley Armored Fighting Vehicle. The weapon fires from an open bolt with a cycle rate of about 1200 rounds per minute. It has a heavy barrel that mounts into the port of the AFV and is secured into place by means of a helical screw type device just in front of the small hand guards. The fire control system has two positions, “safe” and “auto”. Because of the violent rate of fire produce by this weapon, the fire control pins are locked into place via a cover plate on the left side of the receiver. This very rare weapon is marked “Property of the US Govt.” It is in excellent condition and appears to be unfired.
