M16 - 120112-1
A very nice example of an original Colt Model 639 sub-machine gun with the original 4.5" moderator. This weapon was manufactured in September of 1974 by Colt Firearms and I believe it to be correct in every respect. These weapons left the Colt factory without having the moderator listed on the registry. This was later rectified by BATF and this moderator was added to the registery by Alltech. The barrel is correctly marked "C MP CB" with the original factory Colt upper, marked "C H" as you can see in the detailed jpegs. It has the original collapsible stock, still staked in place with the original locking ring, an E1 sight, and is marked "M16". As you can see in the jpeg, the gas tube is still bright and shiny. These weapons came to be after Colt Firearms ceased production of the Military version, marked XM177. The export version of this weapon, a Model 629 was shipped from the factory without the 4.5" moderator, as BATF regulations discouraged export with the moderator. This weapon is a "cherry" collectors item.
