Thompson - 250408-5
This Thompson Sub-Machine Gun was produced in Bridgeport, CT., by Auto Ordnance Corporation, during WWII. Arsenal refinished and reworked at some time. Checkered actuator knob, 28 selector switches, smooth barrel, stamped rear Lyman sight, detachable rear stock, and "Cutts" compensator. The wood is in excellent shape, with a minor ding or two. This weapon is marked Model 1928AC. The letters "US" have been tastefully ground off the side of the receiver and the "A1" designation has been overstamped with a "C", for "Commercial". This was typically done when a weapon was sold out of the military arena. The weapon will accept a 50 round Bridgeport "L" drum and is available to the buyer for $1295. A very nice piece and is on the BATF C&R list.
