Thompson - 101123-1
This is a very early Savage weapon, SN# 13926x.
Wood is pretty nice, matching upper and lower, Savage marked barrel, a few
wrench marks on the OD of the barrel, but I would leave it alone as it is an
original Savage barrel. Interesting though that the barrel alignment mark
is there and it is perfect. Who knows, maybe an armorer removed the
original barrel to proof it and then replaced it? Maybe someone tried to
get the barrel and a could not? Proof mark ("P") is on top of the barrel.
"GEG" inspector mark is there. Also has a "W-Crown" proof marked for
Wilhemina Queen of the Netherlands where it was shipped during WWII. Colt
smooth ejector, looks like the original finish, although it is thin. Some
very light sand pitting here and there, same on Cutts which is patina.
There is a rough spot on the right rear part of the receiver as you can see
in the jpeg. Look like it rode in a jeep rack or something. Overall not
too bad for a weapon that is about 70 years old.
